Chronology of cameras Canon

The N versions improve upon their predecessors by using components introduced in the EOS 100, such as the belt drive system. This makes film advancement much quieter.
The shutter now allows for speeds up to 1/2000th of a second.
These versions are equipped with an "SF" function that automatically creates a soft focus effect. This involves a double exposure: the first shot is sharp, and the second superimposes a photo with blur achieved by an automatic focus shift. Who said "gimmick!"?
Another gimmick is that the self-timer beep can be replaced by music.
The frame counter is decremental, because when a film is inserted, it is fully unwound from its cartridge and rewound back in with each shot. This system helps protect the exposures in case the back is accidentally opened.
